Pepper Rasam
Serves: 4 People
Ingredients:
Tamarind Paste - 4 spoons or about small size of raw tamarind finely soaked in water for about an hour.
Oil - 2 tbsp
Pepper - Freshly Ground ( 1 tablespoon)
Curry Leaves - 2
Garlic - 3 pieces(Mashed)
Water - 1 glass
Cumin and Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp each
Turmeric Powder - pinch
Asfoetida (Inguva)- pinch
Dry Chilli - 2/3 pieces
Coriander Leaves - as required
Salt - as required
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a vessel and add cumin, mustard , turmeric powder, Asfoetida(Inguva) and fry them.
2. Put the stove in medium level.
3. Add curry leaves, mashed garlic, red chilli and fry them for 2 minutes until the raw garlic smell is gone.
4. Now Add water to this mixture and add salt,tamarid paste and pepper
powder.
5. Add chopped corinder and put flame on medium. Allow the water to boil for 15 minutes.
6. Now, You would notice the flavour of the rasam within few minutes.
7. Turn the stove off and the receipe is ready.
Note : Best goes with Rice and any fry item as side dish. Can be consumed as soup
Works best as a remedy for cold and sore throat.
